Weekend Stuff {9/12-9/13}
Isn't it so weird how fast a week of college goes, and then when you think about the whole week on Sunday, Monday feels like an eternity ago?
Weird stuff.
That being said, my first week of college went by really fast. It was minorly (ok, majorly) stressful because I had to rearrange my schedule a bit and I only had until Friday to make sure everything would work out. Thankfully, my advisor was able to help me with a lot of the process. Glenn also had to rearrange his schedule, so we ended up picking up the same New Testament class. :D It'll be just like the old days...except my mom won't be teaching us.
My weekend began with making funny trailers with Rachel's new laptop (and the help of iMovie). All we had to do was film different clips and place them in an already constructed trailer and BOOM. We had a movie trailer. We made two in the span of about twenty minutes and they are on Facebook if you really want to watch them (which you should because they're awesome).
I ended the night with this beauty.
Plain greek yogurt with peanut butter and protein powder and banana slices and Annie's chocolate bunny grahams (only the best flavor out there). It was the perfect way to celebrate finishing my first week of sophomore year!
Saturday morning, I had pancakes (what else?).
I practiced piano for a while before and after lunch.
Snack plate of veggies and pita bread with hummus mixed with mustard for dipping and an orange for lunch.
The best way to practice.
I did homework, and then my mom and sister came up to come to my piano professor's piano recital. The recital was so beautiful and my professor is so incredibly gifted!
My mom and sister stayed for dinner and then came to see my room. The last time they saw it, my other two roommates hadn't moved in yet and a lot has changed since they've moved in!
I did some more homework before the 'Gong Show' (basically a variety show of all of the dorm units on campus). It can be painfully awkward but also hilarious.
Sunday morning, I got up and made breakfast. My mom brought me some honeycrisp apples (SO GOOD) and I was majorly excited to make oatmeal with them.
Apple cinnamon oats with a glob of regular almond butter.
I went to church with friends, went to Wal-Mart, had lunch, and then relaxed all afternoon. I met my friend, Becca, for dinner, and then went to Meijer with Glenn to get some greek yogurt, bananas, and contact solution (woo-hoo). I also got another box of cereal because I was down to only five boxes and I was getting worried that I would run out soon. (:
I went for a walk and then lifted some weights with Rachel before relaxing before bed and reading my new Food Network magazine that my mom brought for me, too! Receiving magazines in the mail is one of my favorite things.
(I had to crop it because my home address was on the front and I don't want anyone creeping on me...)
So yeah...that was my weekend. Fairly relaxed, I would say. Most of my classes don't have a ton of homework yet, which has been a blessing. As I look at my schedule, I know that will change soon, but I'm not worrying about that yet.
And so another week begins...
Do you enjoy snack plates for lunch?
Do you get as excited about receiving magazines as I do?
